Hertford Branch Report: The Old Contemptible – No. 445, February 1971

The Old Contemptible – No. 445, February 1971

HERTFORD           Here we are at the opening of another year and how better to start than by wishing all Chums good health and fortune for as long as we can hold out. We have not done too badly so far, as a pattern to be followed. We, at Hertford, manage to keep our end up, thanks to the faithful “regulars” who keep our monthly meetings going. I am sorry to report the death of Chum P. Cross after much suffering, borne in silence that is typical of we who faced what we did in the “war to end wars!”

As our magazine is to go up 50% from 1971, I visualise a big drop in circulation, this will be beyond the purse of many Chums, and will not help in the annual loss in production, so often brought to our notice, we should be lost without our “Mag.” and owe a great deal to our Editor. Thanks George!

With all good wishes. Don’t weaken!

“BUSTER.”
