London S. W. No. 2 (Brixton) Branch Report: The Old Contemptible – No. 66, June 1939

The Old Contemptible – No. 66, June 1939

BRIXTON:  Meetings are fairly well attended but we want to see more. Dart Match with the Duchy of Cornwall Branch resulted in a win for Brixton and the deciding game will have been played before these notes are in print. Ladies’ Guild have given a successful social and dance. The Padre and Chum Hodkin gave an exhibition of billiards. Lambeth Air Cadets are trained by Chums of the Branch; twelve are in regular attendance as instructors.  It is significant of their training that when it was observed that the Lambeth Air Cadets were selected to form a Guard of Honour at Waterloo Station upon the departure of Their Majesties for Canada.
