Weymouth Branch Report: The Old Contemptible – No. 373, February 1965

The Old Contemptible – No. 373, February 1965

WEYMOUTH                  I am glad to report that the members of the Weymouth Branch enjoyed the programme to the full. Starting with the Conference week, many of our Chums, their wives, and Chums’ widows spent a full week in London and enjoyed all the functions which were so ably laid on for them. Thanks to all concerned as I am sure it meant plenty of hard work and thought.

Next was the Aldershot Parade and a full coach load made the journey from Weymouth. Everyone said what a wonderful time they had and full honours go once again to Paddy and his gallant band of workers.

Last but not least, the Ypres Pilgrimage where Chums McElnaine and Hall accompanied by their wives had a most enjoyable and impressive time, ably lead and organised by Chum Bourgoud to whom we owe great thanks. Also we extend our thanks to our Local Parks Superintendent for the most beautiful floral badge in Greenhill Gardens of which we were all very proud.
